Our premier lawn space has undergone a major restoration over the last three months, and is looking absolutely amazing. Our operations team had quite a major task ahead of them, as they looked to repair and restore the homestead lawn, after wet weather usage deemed it unusable.

The biggest issue that we’d had with the top lawn, and a major reason behind our restoration was the lack of effective drainage, which ultimately led to major ponding and consistently wet underfoot. The process involved digging up all the redundant drainage, which we found was broken beyond repair and replaced with Nova-flo.

To ensure we had an effective drainage system that managed the water properly, we then had to drilled the nova-flo under the barrier wall and into the Arboretums drainage system. Following this, we engaged the services of Sam Williams at Gisborne Hydroseeding Ltd, who mixed up a turf concoction that allowed the space to be a fully functional event space but also restore the top lawn back to the premier lawn space.

None of this would have been possible without the leadership and project management delivered by Eastwoodhill Staff Members Anthea Dalton, Travis Dalton, Kaya Campbell and Te Awe Tahuri – our operations team. They were critical in the planning, implementation and delivery of a complex restoration that will future proof that space.
