Community

Connect with like-minded tree people

We want to create a close-knit community of passionate tree protectors. Join the discussion, check what's happening or become a friend of Eastwoodhill.

Friends of Eastwoodhill

Formed in 1989 as a non-profit organisation, the Friends are a dedicated group of volunteers who are passionate and vital part of Eastwoodhill.

The Friends are involved in planning and running fundraising events such as quiz nights, the fun run, and the Teddy Bear’s picnic.

The Homestead Garden is recognised as a ‘Garden of National Significance’ and is kindly maintained by a small dedicated group of Friends.

Volunteers staff the Visitor Centre on Saturdays and Sundays, run Tasty Leaf Catering, represent Eastwoodhill at national events and help out with our guided jeep tours.

If you’re interested in helping to preserve and develop Eastwoodhill, becoming a volunteer is a rewarding experience as working to uphold New Zealand’s national arboretum is a privilege and a legacy to be left for many generations to come.
