Education activities

Education coordinator Marg Sherratt is waiting to co-ordinate your educational visit to Eastwoodhill!  She has some fantastic education activities for children and groups wanting to team build. Contact us for more information.

The Ministry of Education contracts the Tairawhiti Museum to provide Learning Experiences Outside the Classroom (L.E.O.T.C.) for primary, intermediate and secondary schools in the Tairwahiti (East Coast region)

The teachers from the Museum will come to Eastwoodhill where we can blend the wonderful natural environment with learning objectives.

Eastwoodhill also offers a range of activities for children, teens and groups focused on team building.

Ask us about Tahi's Treasure Hunt - where preschool children go around the park spotting specific treasures. You can get your free sheet from the visitor centre.

We also have the Eastwoodhill Explorer's Pack that contains a variety of fun activities young children and their families can do in the park. It is $2 per pack.

The Blue Orienteering Course is suitable for year one to year six students with a good mixture of exercise, strategy and teamwork. This is also $2 per pack.

The Stars in the Park Challenge is for year seven and up. The course is a real test of strategy, planning, team building and some hard work! It's $2 per sheet, one sheet per group (groups should be about two to four people).

The Rogaine Challenge is a strategic test of time management, brainpower, teamwork and cunning and is suitable for high school students and staff challenges. It's $50 to cover the set up fee and printing.
